ODIN DETECTIVE

Turkish adventure or razor-bladed

A girl named Anna reached out to us. After returning to Ukraine from the USA, she discovered that her sister had not been home for several months.

A young woman named Anna contacted the Investigation Agency. She had recently returned from the USA, where she had been studying at a university thanks to a scholarship. Upon arriving back in Ukraine, she learned from neighbors that her sister, 21-year-old Alina, had not been home for several months.

After calling all of her sister’s friends, acquaintances, and classmates, the client discovered only that no one had seen Alina for the past three months. However, she also found out that before disappearing, Alina had been dating a young man of Middle Eastern appearance for about six months. She called him Misha.

Anna went to the police. However, after a week of forced inaction and no results from the investigation, she decided to turn to the Investigation Agency.

Private detectives examined all of Alina’s connections and not only confirmed information about her boyfriend but also found out that before her disappearance, Alina had been excitedly telling her friends that she and her boyfriend were planning a trip to Bulgaria, specifically to Albena.

By checking border-crossing records, the detectives established that Alina had indeed left Ukraine for Bulgaria. Interestingly, the seat next to hers was purchased by a 24-year-old Turkish citizen named Michael. However, a week later, Michael returned from Albena, but Alina did not.

The decision was made to speak with this individual. At first, the young man denied even knowing Alina. However, after being presented with evidence—such as photos identifying him through Alina’s friends—he admitted that they had indeed gone on a trip to Bulgaria. According to him, after a week at the resort, they had a serious argument, and Alina left the hotel with her belongings. He claimed he had no choice but to return to Ukraine alone.

The detectives didn’t believe him. But they passed the gathered information to the client, Anna, who decided to continue the investigation in Bulgaria.

Two detectives traveled to Albena. Upon arrival at the hotel mentioned by Michael, they quickly confirmed that the couple had indeed stayed there for seven days and had left… TOGETHER!

Moreover, they were accompanied by a middle-aged Turkish man, seemingly a relative of Michael. Upon receiving this information, the detectives immediately contacted their colleagues in Ukraine. Soon, a response arrived. The Ukrainian team had another conversation with Michael, and the truth surfaced:

Alina deeply wanted to marry Michael. However, despite being a beautiful and interesting girl, to him, she was merely a toy. Eventually, her insistence started to annoy him, and he began looking for a way to get rid of her.

A solution came unexpectedly. Michael’s uncle, a well-known Turkish businessman, came to visit. When he saw his nephew’s girlfriend, he noted her beauty and asked Michael how much she meant to him. Learning of Michael’s "problem," the uncle proposed a simple yet sinister plan: Michael would take Alina on a trip to Bulgaria, where the uncle would meet them. He would then escort Michael’s "future wife" to Turkey to introduce her to his family while urgent business matters would call Michael back to Ukraine.

And so it happened. Alina, full of hope, traveled to Turkey—where she was forced into working in her captor’s high-end brothel.

The client was given this information. She decided to seek help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the police.

However, a few weeks later, Anna returned to the Investigation Agency. Could the detectives do what the official authorities were unwilling or unable to do?

It was a delicate, difficult, and risky matter.

Three detectives traveled to Turkey. After a few days of surveillance, they discovered that the girls were transported in a minibus from their "workplace" to a residential area, where they lived in a rented three-bedroom apartment under guard.

They managed to identify Alina.

Based on the gathered information, a rescue plan was formed, and approval was secured from the captain of a ferry to smuggle a passenger without documents.

When the minibus dropped off the girls and drove away, the detectives made their move. The guards were quickly incapacitated, Alina was pushed into a waiting Ford, and they sped toward the seaport.

An hour later, the ferry set sail.

The detectives coordinated with their colleagues in Odesa to arrange for Alina’s safe return to Ukraine.

Reading this story, one might say the detectives walked a fine line—on the edge of breaking the law.

But when a human life is at stake, and official institutions either cannot or will not help their own citizens, there remains only one law—the Law of Justice.
